Tsaka mas maganda talaga pag sa mismong release date pinanood. Iba yung feeling pag may kasabay kang mag-enjoy manood. Sa batuhan talaga ng linya ni Jon tsaka ni Gendry ako natuwa eh.

Bro I apologize and I mean no disrespect but at least put a big spoiler alert tag if you are going to spoil any leaked episodes. It's just common internet courtesy for people that might not have yet watched or would want to watch when the actual episode airs.

The time jumps are getting quite ridiculous - from the time Jon Snow sent Gendry back up to when Dany shows with her dragons, it's not a deal-breaker but it really tests your suspension of disbelief. There's also a bit of needless Deus Ex Machina with Benjen showing up from nowhere. Jon could've just rode the dragon like the rest then have it incinerate the Night King and his posse. Still a good penultimate episode, warts and all.

@This_Is_The_End, someone on reddit did the math. Haha!

https://redd.it/6uzztg

TL;DR it took about 5 days for word to get to Dany and for her to get back to them. Which is about how long it would take for the ice to freeze enough to support the army of wights.

Regarding Gendry, The Raven, and the timing of it all, it makes sense. I'm going to assume since they were looking for a lone White that they were not going in a straight line from East watch, they were probably going back and forth in a zigzag (rip rickon) so Gendry running at full speed back to the wall, let's say that took about 4 hours. The trip from Castle black to Winterfell is about 600 miles (a little farther from East watch), a raven going full speed (28mph) could probably make that trip in a little over a day. From Winterfell to King's Landing is about A Thousand Miles according to Cersei in S5E6, so it would be about the same maybe a little more from Winterfell to Dragonstone. So let's say it takes the raven 4 days to get to Dragonstone. Dragons on the other hand, I couldn't find much info about how fast they can go. So for the sake of argument let's say they top out with a rider at about 175 mph. So that's about a 12-hour flight straight to Snow Team 6. So the overall time it takes Danny to get to Jon, is about 5 days. This makes sense considering that they had to wait for the ice to freeze over the lake again. Considering that the ice had to support a huge hoard of wights, the ice would have to be around 8 inches thick. Assuming an average temperature of 10 °F (they're not that far north) the ice would be growing at 1.5 inches per day. This works out to 7.5 inches of ice. Guys, the math works out.

5 days is also more than enough time to get hypothermia out in the environment

Hope uncle benjen still alive! Your thougts?

Maybe but I kinda doubt it.  What purpose will Benjen serve for the remainder of the series that only he can fulfill? He doesn't have any great story arc to begin with and it's a bit late in the game for him to be a developed character. They're trimming down on ancillary characters and I suspect even more so sa Season 8. Maybe he'll pop-up, the series has been a fanfic (to be totally blunt) since it became untethered to the books so who knows.

If you think it's physically impossible, check out Wim Hof. The madman reached Kilimanjaro's summit after 2 days wearing shorts, just shorts.

To be fair, Tormund might be the only one from the group capable of accomplishing the same feat. I'm really happy he survived.

How cold is the peak of Kilimanjaro compared to other mountains at the same elevation? I don't know but maybe the arctic would be the closest to reality the frozen land beyond the wall is; how cold would that be in comparison to Kilimanjaro?

I think he's an exception rather than the rule otherwise more people would be doing it and it wouldn't be as big as an accomplishment as it is. He probably prepared for the trek as well. Maybe conditioned his body to be acclimated with the environment. I doubt he just picked up his gear one day, flew to Africa and started climbing.

Did some digging.

https://www.smartertravel.com/2012/04/01/game-of-thrones-exclusive-george-r-r-martin-talks-season-two-the-winds-of-winter-and-real-world-influences-for-a-song-of-ice-and-fire/

GRRM mentioned that close to the wall is like Canada and further north is more like the Arctic. Canadian winters are -15 degrees Celcius on average but can drop to -40 or lower.

Kilimanjaro at the base ranges from 21-27 degrees Celcius decreasing to -7 to -29 at the top at night. It can be unpredictable at times.

Hof also climbed Everest but failed to reach the summit. He stopped at 6.7 km, peak is at 8.84 km, due to a foot injury. The base starts at 1 degree Celcius and can drop up to -67.

The more you know. Haha! :crazysmart:

Spoiler Alert for the late viewers then (just to be on the safe side)

For me the Aegon bit was the least interesting - the show's just confirming what has been speculated to death for years now. I'm sure it would be a big sticking point in season 8 but with all the stuff crammed into this episode, it's in the lower rung. The Littlefinger death was "spoiled" to me a week or two  ago on another forum because of the damn leak. It wasn't that surprising (whatever political machinations Littlefinger has in store is kinda worthless now at the face of the undead army marching down to the north so yeah he kinda has to go) but I could've been spared the details.

The meeting in the Dragon Pit and the aftermath and the implications going into the last season was the highlight for me. The Tyrion/Bronn reunion and Varys' reaction in the background. The callback to Pod's apparently amazing...uhhh...manhood. The suspicious look on Jon's face when Bronn went for a drink with Pod - not a lot of people in that meeting know the two's history. Cleganebowl is still a thing unless the showrunners have a different thing in mind. One small touch that I like - the Dothraki entourage are wearing pieces of Lannister armor. Their spoils of war a few episodes ago. Cersei crapping her pants when the wight was inches away from her and Jaime's face when Dany tells him the undead army is about a hundred thousand strong at the very least. I think Qyburn got a stiffy when he took the severed arm. Cersei and Tyrion's scene was also great. Theon finding his balls.

The last scene was also spoiled to me by some asshat a few days ago. Fortunately seeing it in action was way better. It reminded me of the Wrath of the Lich King trailer.

i also liked the dragon pit scene, and seeing cersei's unamused face upon witnessing those dragons while we saw a somewhat scared face when the wight approached her. for me, cersei stole the thunder from the night king as the biggest villain of the show come season 8. she just betrayed the north and jamie by taking back her word of them helping in fighting the white walkers (she got me fooled on that one too), and even attempting on killing jamie. tyrion's look upon seeing jon snow enter dany's chambers is a weird one. i'm not sure if he's jealous or he's concerned that they're getting at it. i think dany will be pregnant at the start of season 8
