Tips - wants to resign

14 posts in this topic

Hi guys.

Thanks.

Well, the real reason is hindi fit yung company sa direction ko. Isa pa, madami ako hindi gusto. Bosses, lack of opportunities for growth and learning, process. So I don't want to waste my time sa di ko naman gusto. Pero syempre, di ko naman pwede sabihin yan sa interview. Hahaha!

I advise you dont resign until you are hired on the other job..Don't get a habit of resigning first then looking for a job.. Once you are hired and if your performance is good and needed, they may match the salary or give you higher

I agree and thank you for the input. And yes, I don't have plans of resigning if I still don't have another option. My question though is a good answer to the interviewer if they will ask why I only lasted 6 months and 9 months from my previous employer.

My reason would be Career Growth. Hehe

definitely career growth. what you don't see or feel in the first 6 or 9 months, you will not definitely see or feel if you stay longer.

If the person doing the interview is an HR veteran, she has already heard all the reasons that you can think of many times over.

If you don't mind, what's the real reason nag-resign ka sa last 2 jobs mo?

You can answer: Sir or Ma'am, the day I stop learning and pursue my goals is the day I die.. There is always an opportunity for advancement and I am the person that always willing to learn and at the same time make an impact to the company that I am employed. I believe this is the reason I applied to your firm because I believe you encourage advancement... hehe.. If you are employed with a good company, they always send you to training and your year end performance should have something on it otherwise you are stagnant.. I guess I was lucky to have work on a single company for 19yrs now and they always send me out to training and certification..

I agree, get hired first before resigning from the current job.

As to the reasons that you can give, be honest but polite in explaining why.I agree that you should not waste time but you should also be able to prove that you tried your best.Otherwise, you will be seen as pa importante. Good luck!

Wow! Nice! I see a lot of great responses. Thank you!

Btw, for the 9 months, I left the company since I can no longer bear the pressure given by the upper management. As part of the middle management, I know na kasama yun pero ibang klase kase. To the point na natatapakan na yung sarili kong values. When I left that company, I cannot find another job na medyo ok. So tinanggap ko yung offer sa current company ko even if I have to downgrade position. Now I am looking for another company with a higher post ulit. Wala kasi ako makita growth opportunities dito.

That sounds like a good reason. You don't want to compromise your values as well as devalue your skill so you jumped ship although you might be opening a can of worms since there might be additional questions to clarify 'kung anong ibig mong sabihin. You can always be tactful while explaining, probably say some good things about your past companies but explain na there was a misalignment of goals na you realize what you are looking for and what they wanted was probably not the same thing. Just avoid sounding like you are bitter and sourgraping.

I guess just be sincere with whatever you choose to say and not sound like you are reading from a script.
